Dr. Fredrick Harris (Dr. Fred) grew up in Greenwood, Mississippi. Through experience and some Southern charm, he is relatable regardless of age. He creates a calming environment that leaves him an endearing favorite with children.
Dr. Fred graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry. He then received his Ph.D. in Cancer Biology/Biochemistry from Meharry Medical College specializing in lung cancer research. Dr. Fred then continued to pursue his unparalleled passion for helping others and received his dental degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. From here, a dental trip to Uganda, Africa cemented his love for working with children.
Dr. Fred went on to complete a one-year residency program at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville; followed by a two-year pediatric specialty training at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Having worked at one of the top 5 busiest trauma hospitals in the nation, Dr. Fred is well prepared for any situation.
Dr. Fred is proud to be Board Eligible by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as a member of the American Dental Association.
In his spare time, Dr. Fred enjoys volunteering, playing blues guitar, traveling to new places, exploring NYC, enjoying spicy foods, working out, watching sports (Go Vanderbilt, 49ers, and UNC!), and playing tennis.
